Accommodation in Kenya comes in all shapes and sizes and is available in every price bracket, ranging from very inexpensive accommodation in small hotels to rooms in mid-range hotels to luxurious suites. Some Kenya hotels are housed in national parks and game reserves, while other are found in big cities, small towns and on waterfronts. The wide variety of hotels boasts a range of facilities and amenities such as swimming pool, game views, spa, sauna and gym. Tourist class Hotels are classified according to the standard criteria of the Kenya hotel classification using a system that ranges from one star (accommodation for modest requirements) to five stars (accommodation for top-level requirements) under the Hotels and Restaurants Act (Cap 494) and the Tourist Industry Licensing Act (Cap 381).
